Most Internet Marketing Products Suck – Get a Refund!

There is a lot of hype out there, especially in many Internet Marketing circles.  Lots of people selling magic systems and special formula’s to help you get rich quick or at the very least make money online.  But how can you tell the good products from the bad hyped up products.  Today’s post is about Internet Marketing products that suck and how to separate the  creme from the crap.

Most people who begin to start any kind of business online or try to setup any website will no doubt find themselves receiving emails promising the world.  From free reports to now free training video’s, everyone wants to get to know you and everyone seems to be able to help you.  All you have to do is simply fill in your name and email and salvation can be yours.

The majority of the Internet Marketing products being pandered about on the web are simply crap.  Most are just re-hashed reports transcribed from someone else’s tele-seminar in order to get you on their email list.

Now don’t get me wrong – there isn’t anything wrong with trading an email for some free information.  I do it all the time and it helps me get to know the author of the report and possibly develop a friendship.  What bothers me is when this relationship escalates to a sale of an email course, eBook, video course, access to a membership forum or whatever…  and the product is just junk.

If you find yourself in a situation like this, don’t just take it and loose your money.  Contact the author and GET A REFUND!  If the product sucks, then don’t be afraid to fire up an email and ask for your money back.  98% of the information products available online come with a 30-60 day money back, iron clad, no questions asked, even if its 3:00 am in the morning guarantee.   If that’s the case then exercise your right to get your money back.

One way to make sure you get good useful information is to simply visit the author’s blog, leave comments and start a conversation that way. Many blog owners will end a blog post asking if anyone has questions.  And many blogs will link back to your website just for helping add to the conversation.  This is a great way to get to know more experienced marketers and help your own website ranking at the same time.

Another way is to visit some Internet Marketing forums. There are many great forums with a ton of information and advice from their members.  If you have a question about a particular product simply post a question in one of these forums. There are always friendly people that are more than willing to help.

Do you have some good ways to weed out the bogus Internet Marketing products from the good ones?  Leave us a comment below and tell us what you do keep from buying Internet Marketing Products that Suck.

  1. Hi Joseph,

this is an interesting topic to cover, but another side to this is where some people abuse the refund policy. I have seen several marketers that produce quality products stating that there will be no refunds. If you don’t like what you see, don’t buy it.

I suspect that the people peddling the junk are happy to have these long refund periods as a kind of escape clause against legal action.

When I have sold some things such as advertising space and someone demanded a refund, I refused and they lodged a complaint with PayPal which I won since they did receive exactly what they paid for.

On the other hand, when they ask for a refund of a product that didn’t suit their needs, then I give them a quick no-questions asked refund.

Part of the problem with these junk products may be the way many marketers are teaching their students to do business by creating these junk products.

I really appreciate the marketers that share how they promote non-IM products such as Physical goods from Amazon.

  2. Andy,
Thanks for your insights. You’re absolutely right and I don’t condone abuse. But I also don’t want people, especially new people to get swindled. I see a lot of new people spending all their money on products that are misleading, full of fluff and unnecessary.

Marketers too freely throw around terms like “100% Iron Clad No Questions Asked Guarantee”. I wanted to bring some awareness that it is okay to ask for a refund if you aren’t 100% satisfied.

If the product is good then there should be no problem. No one should feel they are stuck with a junk product. There are always going to be some refunds, but if its good content with real value then the refund rate will be low.

    Thanks for your great comment!

  3. Yup I agree. Don’t buy any internet marketing products with pictures of fancy cars, mansions, income screenshots (probably fake anyhow). If they need this stuff to sell their product then their product is most likely rehashed junk.

  4. The Internet Marketing niche is one of the most competitive and profitable niches on the Internet. There is an Internet Marketing product that launches almost every week and since the demand is high for Internet Marketing products, one easy way to make some fast and extra income is through writing Internet Marketing product reviews for these products and promoting them as an affiliate.

  5. Hey There Joesinternetmarketing,
I know what you mean, Were you aware there are two ways that internet marketing products can help any internet business? Knowing what these two ways are will help you see how vital these products are and why so many people are looking for them.
    BTW great blogpost
