I’ve received a lot of questions from different people asking what’s needed to start their Internet Marketing business or asking about this product or that. I’ve put together a list of products that I’ve used and currently use for my business as well as some of the things you need when you start your Internet Marketing business.
As you know there are tons of Internet Marketing products out there and many more people out there telling you how what to do. And like any business there are more than one way to reach your goal and to make your business successful. Please know that I’m not one of those guys who just promotes stuff. I’ve tried a lot of products, bought a lot of ebooks, and lost money on most of them. Hopefully you can benefit from my mistakes and not lose as much
I will only recommend services or products that I’ve tried, used and know that work. You may know of a different of better products or services out there. If so feel free to let us know what are you favorites
there are a number of really great companies out there that you can use for Webhosting. For a complete break down of some of the top web hosting companies check out the web hosting comparison chart.
WEBHOSTING – HostGator
In my opinion Hostgator is hands down the best web hosting companies out there. They have convenient billing allowing me to pay month to month and a technical staff that have bailed me out of more than one screw-up and ensure my business was back online.
Domain Name Registrar
Getting a domain name is the first part of establishing your online brand. Here are some get places to get your domain name.
As a registrar I use Godaddy. Though there have been many times I’ve considered leaving Godaddy because of their political stance on a particular subject or some strange corporate crag they pull. but overall they provide me a service and a very cheap service at that. They suck at most things but the one thing they do right is domain name registrar.
I also have to give big props to NameCheap. They are not as cheap as Godaddy but they are amazing too. I will most likely move all of my domains to NameCheap as my primary registrar once I start making a bit more money with my websites.
Web Site Development
Building web sites is a daunting task. Adding new content to websites can also be a complex and daunting task. To make this easier you need a Content management system
WordPress is a free open source software that most web hosting providers will give and install for your for free. It is an easy to use content management system which allows you to build very robust, dynamic websites very quickly. With built-in SEO and social capabilities, WordPress is a must for all web sites.
Monetizing Your Website
After you get your website up and running you may want to start making money from it. Here are some great tools that can help make that happen.
PHPbay is a cool plugin for WordPress. This little piece of software allows you to automatically pull in eBay listings into pages on your website. If your visitor click through and buy something from eBay you will make a commision on it. Very handly little tools to help you monetize your website or blog.
I use Ninja Affiliate to automatically add contextual links within my post or pages to affiliate products I use. A must have! I can be a little pricey so wait until it goes on sale before you buy it.
Email Marketing and Autoresponders
Helping over 74,000 businesses like yours raise profits and build customer relationships using AWeber’s opt-in email marketing software for over 10 years.
Aweber is an email hosting company (sort of). They help you manage you email marketing campaigns through the use of email autoresponders. With Aweber you can have people sign up to an email list, and you can continue an email dialog with your customers automatically.
MailChimp is another really great company that you can use for Email marketing and autoresponder service.
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
All websites need SEO or Search Engine Optimization to get ranked in the search engines such as Google, Yahoo or Bing.
There are two types of SEO. On page SEO and off page SEO. On page SEO involves optimizing elements on a web page to help it be more favorable to the search engines for a particular keyword phrase. Off page SEO are things that can be done to promote at web page through back links to y our website or web page for a particular keyword phrase.
The following are some tool I use for on page and off page SEO.
On Page SEO
To make sure my posts and pages stay on topic and have all of the key elements for on page SEO I use Daniel Tan’s SEOpressor. It works amazing!
Off Page SEO
To help bring in backlinks there are several services I’ve used in the past. These services typically allow you to post articles on their blog networks with links embedded in the article pointing back to your web site. Not all are the same but all provide the same basic function if helping you get backlinks to your website
One of the best ways for promoting your blog or website is through article marketing (some also call it bum marketing). With article marketing you submit articles to directories and other blogs to help generate traffic and back links to your site. Here are some great products that will show you how to use article marketing to make your web site successful
I hope these products and services help you in your business as they have helped mine. If you know of other products or services that have truly helped your business let us know!
